About this role
TARKA Edinburgh is seeking bright, energetic all-rounders to provide guest-facing services across reception, restaurant, and bar operations. You will be the face of the business, responsible for greeting guests, assisting with check-ins, serving in the restaurant and bar, and handling customer enquiries with professionalism and courtesy. This role offers ample opportunity to progress, with successful candidates able to develop a broad range of hospitality skills and advance to supervisor and leadership positions as the company expands.
What you will do
Greet guests upon arrival and assist with check-in if required
Escort guests to tables and explain the ordering system
Serve customers in the cafe and at the Izakaya bar
Handle customer requests and enquiries with a relaxed and courteous demeanour
Provide guests with information about Edinburgh and assist with enquiries
Relay information between guests and kitchen regarding dietary requirements and special requests
Oversee the ordering process and manage guest use of the system
Serve orders to guests and clear and reset tables
Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely order delivery
Handle POS and check-in operations
Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner
Develop knowledge of food and beverage offerings to guide guests through menus
Communicate special offers and promotions to guests
Solicit and relay guest feedback to management
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and sanitation practices
Report safety hazards or maintenance issues to management
Work duty manager shifts as required
What we are looking for
Previous experience in customer service or hospitality role preferred but not essential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
Positive attitude and enthusiasm
Genuine desire to create memorable experiences for guests
In-depth knowledge of Edinburgh advantageous
